The University of Minnesota Veterinary Referral Center (VRC) will provide experienced specialty clinicians in internal medicine and surgery. The VRC, referral only practice has access to advanced imaging and treatment options including digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, and more. Located at South Metro Animal Emergency Care in Apple Valley, the VRC is open Monday – Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. South Metro Animal Emergency Care will continue to offer emergency care during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Confirm all phone numbers for owners before making referrals to avoid a delay in processing the appointment. If anesthesia is anticipated, send the results of lab work completed within the previous month. Please send a copy of the medical record and appropriate radiographs prior to the appointment directly to VRC. When at all possible, please send radiographs as original DICOM (.dcm) image files. If you are unsure how to do this, it may be necessary for you to contact your vendor.
