Amanda T.

Amanda has been with SMAEC since July of 2016. In 2010 she graduated with honors in Veterinary Technology at the Minnesota School of Business and has become a Certified Veterinary Technician. In 2015, she was certified as a canine massage therapist, and in 2020, she became certified as an Emergency Medical Responder in human medicine.
Her favorite patients are cats of any kind, but grumpy cats especially. Quality patient care is her highest priority. Amanda has been fostering since 2008 in hopes of rescuing the unwanted and reducing over- population as much as possible. She is also on the Board of Directors for Last Hope Animal Rescue. Amanda has opened up her home to many dogs and cats over the years of fostering and has several cats and 2 shih-tzus of her own.

Ashley earned her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Argosy University, and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is passionated about providing quality care for her patients. She enjoys camping and spending time with her family. She has two dog named Aurora and Luna.

Bethany has a A.A.S. in veterinary technology and a bachelor’s in video game development. Bethany became CVT-certified in December 2019. Also a proud mom of one dog, Jabba, and two cats, Marshmallow and Lucifer, Bethany enjoys playing video games, watching Asian dramas, and spending time with family in Wisconsin.

Christine earned her degree in Veterinary Technology Argosy University. Her special interests include anesthesia, client care, and veterinary technician education. She has two dogs named Bianca and Rozalyn. She also has two cats named Sparx and Punzi.

Derek is a Certified Veterinary Technician that joined our team in 2016. He has an AAS degree in Veterinary Technology and has a passion for pet Rehabilitation. Derek has a strong passion for pet rehabilitation, emergency surgery, and the challenges of advanced critical care. His strives to constantly expand his technical abilities and to educate clients. His own dog, Stringer, is a black lab.

Heather graduated from Argosy University with an AAS in Veterinary Technology. She has been caring for all kinds of patients for almost seven years now, with passions in dentistry and anesthesia. Seeing the deep love between pets and their people is what keeps Heather inspired every day. Dachshunds and German Shorthaired Pointers hold a special place in her heart, always brightening the day when presented with those breeds. Outside of the clinic, you will catch Heather exploring nature, riding horses, or reading a good book.

Jen earned her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology at Argosy University in 2014 and became certified shortly after. In her free time she enjoys volunteering at Furball Farm Pet Sanctuary, spending time with her friends and fiancé, reading and relaxing with her animals. She has two beagle mixes named Saydee Mae and Saphina. Also, three cats named Azazel, Lilith, Dagon and a painted turtle named Taz.

Kumiko is a veterinary technician from Southern California. She earned her B.A. in Spanish from UCLA, and her A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster College. Kumiko first became interested in veterinary medicine in high school when she volunteered at the local feline shelter. She shares her life with two Siberian Huskies, a Lurcher dog, four cats, a Mini Rex mix bunny, her boyfriend, and over 100 house plants.

Siera joined our team in January 2016, having worked for us for two years part-time, then rejoining the team full time in December of 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and an associate degree in Veterinary Technology from Argosy University. She enjoys riding horseback and powerlifting. Through powerlifting, Siera is a competitive athlete and fundraises for the Hope Kids organization. She has a dog named D’Artagnan and a horse named Mystique.

Vanessa joined our SMAEC team in 2017 and she has been a great addition! Vanessa holds an Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Globe University and a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician and is also Fear Free Certified. Currently she shares her life with Toby the pug, 1 cat, and her husband Ben.

Andrea graduated from Saint Catherine University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology. Her passions include fostering dogs and diving in our Minnesota Lakes. She lives with her dogs Dylan and Paisley, her cat Edie, and her husband Kyle. Andrea joined our SMAEC family in August of 2016 and is s currently pursuing her DVM degree at the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine.

In August of 2020, Elizabeth graduated with honors at Ridgewater College – Willmar Campus, becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. Elizabeth’s special interests include lab work and nursing care. Also, she enjoys being able to perform high-quality care to all patients. When not at work, Elizabeth enjoys watching various television shows and spending time with her two awesome dogs, Fritz and Daisy, and snuggles from her fluffy cat, Gumby. Elizabeth is fear-free certified, too!
