Katie K.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Katie has a degree in veterinary technology, animal assisting, and grooming from Krikwood Community College. In her free time you will find her taking care of her four kids, riding her bike, or at her parents farm.

Veterinary Technician
Lindsey joined our team in 2022. She has been a technician since 2008 after graduating from UWRF with a Bachelors in Animal Science as well as a Bachelors in English. In addition to her farm, Ramblin Gypsy Ranch, she also breeds Golden Retrievers.
Kumiko S.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Kumiko is a veterinary technician from Southern California who joined our team in 2020. She earned her B.A. in Spanish from UCLA, and her A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster College. Kumiko first became interested in veterinary medicine in high school when she volunteered at the local feline shelter. She shares her life with two Siberian Huskies, a Lurcher dog, four cats, a Mini Rex mix bunny, her boyfriend, and over 100 house plants.

Megan joined our team in February of 2021. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in 2010. She started her career as a RVT in emergency medicine in Tulsa, OK until 2017. Then she moved to MN and continued working in emergency medicine as a CVT. Megan has a passion for emergency medicine as well as an interest in the surgeries performed. Her and her husband have 2 children and 3 rescue dogs

Abbey joined our team in 2023. She graduated from Argosy University in 2018 with her degree in veterinary technology. She has two cats at home, Napoleon and Benny “the jet”.

Allie started at SMAEC in 2022. She has been in the veterinary field since 2013. She started out as a kennel staff before going to tech school. She graduated from Pierce College in Washington state in 2018. She has two cats, Meatball and Suki Fizz. She is looking forward to learning more about emergency medicine and critical care.

Becca joined our team in October of 2021. She went to PLATT college and is a registered veterinary technician. She’s a wonderful addition to our overnight team! She has 2 dogs, a Pitbull named Pookie and a Great Dane named Peanut.

Gabriella joined our team in April 2023. She has been in the veterinary field since 2013 and has been a CVT for 6 of those years. At home she has a Border Collie named Azaio, 2 Oriental Shorthairs named Kusho and Nairobi, and a Somali named Satori. Her main veterinary interests lie in animal behavior, dog training, and genetics. In her free time she enjoys hiking and participating in various dog sports with Azaio.

Bryan joined our team in June of 2022. He became a CVT in 2024 after graduating with his associates degree from DCTC. He’s lived in Minnesota for the last ten years with his wife Kehly and their 2 dogs. He enjoys hiking and traveling. Bryan is excited about being able to help provide excellent care to our clients and patients.

Kristina joined our team in November 2022. She started as a technician assistant while in school before transitioning to a certified veterinary technician after graduating from DCTC. At home she has three cats, Mittens, Winchester, and Moose, as well as two dogs, Rio and Bear.

Kelsey joined our team in October 2023. She received her degree in Veterinary Technology from Northwoods Technical College. Kelsey has been working in the veterinary field since 2020, being a CVT since 2022. She has a 3 year old Domestic Shorthair named Toby.

Shahyla joined our team in June 2024. She has been in the veterinary medicine field since 2011 and received her associates of applied science degree in Veterinary Technology from Argosy University. At home she has a cattle dog, Colt, a domestic shorthair, Pancho, as well as horses, goats, chickens, and cows.

Tay joined our team in September 2023. She has been in the veterinary field since 2016, and only in emergency medicine. She was a part of the last class to graduate from Minnesota School of Business with her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She has a 3-legged German Shorthaired Pointer named River and two cats, Randee and DeeDee. Her favorite parts of the job are teaching and mentoring her fellow teammates.

Heidi joined our team in May 2024. She started in the veterinary field as an assistant in 2006 and then graduated from Argosy in 2008. At home she has 2 dogs, Ollie and Gus, and two cats, Waylon and Loretta. In addition to all of her veterinary technician knowledge, she also has a certification in phlebotomy. She worked in a human hospital drawing labs but missed animals and working with vet techs too much! She is excited for all the new things she can learn in an emergency clinic setting.

Megan joined our team January of 2025. She has been in the field since 2023. After finishing her internship with SMAEC and graduating from the veterinary technician program at DCTC in 2024, she chose to come back to further pursue emergency medicine. At home she has 4 cats, 1 dog, and 1 turtle. She is excited to advance her technical skills and learn more about emergency critical care medicine.
