FT Certified Veterinary Technician Supervisor

South Metro Animal Emergency Care is looking for two certified veterinary technicians to join our team as a Technician Supervisor.  The ideal candidates will have a passion for emergency medicine and be able to work in a fast paced environment.

Openings:

2 Full Time Positions – during our emergency hours of nights, weekends and holidays

Qualifications:

Minimum of four years’ experience in Veterinary Medicine, with Emergency experience being ideal and two years of lead or supervisory responsibilities.  Should be self-motivated, a quick thinker, able to multi-task efficiently, and have excellent communication skills and compassion.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform all tasks assigned to veterinary technician
  • Supervise and encourage technical staff for daily efficiency(
  • Handle & document all minor disciplinary issues & review with Practice Manager
  • Oversee training of all technicians and encourage long term growth
  • Ensure all technicians follow proper safety procedures
  • Ensure proper housekeeping procedures for technician areas
  • Participates with the Practice Manager in interviewing/onboarding/performance evaluations
  • Attend and support management in all technician and leadership meetings
  • Be supportive and respectful of all decisions made by management regarding the technical team
  • Maintain open staff communication and be a liaison between staff and management
  • Refrain from negative talk, gestures, implied attitudes that reflect poorly on hospital employees, management, policies, equipment or facility
  • Other duties as assigned to keep hospital running smoothly and provide optimal pet care
  • Required work habits include regular on time attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability and prompt completion of tasks
  • Maintain patient, client, and employee confidentiality
  • Scheduling technicians with practice manager input
  • Coordinate technician call outs & find coverage

PT Veterinary Technician

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Veterinary Technician license for the state of Minnesota. Non-credentialed technicians may be considered with extensive emergency technician experience.

PT Veterinary Assistant - Current Tech Student

South Metro Animal Emergency Care, an AAHA accredited hospital, is looking for technician assistants to join our team.  The ideal candidates will have a passion for emergency medicine and be able to work in a fast paced environment. They should be dedicated to supporting their fellow team members, with the ability to follow directions precisely with excellent communication skills and compassion. The work of an assistant is challenging, but very fulfilling! This is not a patient care position and as such, this position will have limited exposure to patients other than those tasks listed specifically below.

Openings:

2-3 Part Time positions for exclusive weekend and holiday shifts (4 shifts per month minimum.)

Qualifications:

Current veterinary technician student who has completed one full semester of an accredited program. Experience in a veterinary practice is ideal.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Client Service – phone calls, triage, paperwork
  • Assisting in the transport of patients from different locations within the practice
  • General hospital cleaning
  • Surgical Suite and Supplies cleaning and preparation
  • General hospital supply stocking
  • Patient restraint
  • General cleanliness of patients
  • Management of patient eliminations
  • Act as support to the technical staff which may include a multitude of non-patient care tasks to keep the hospital running effectively such as refilling dilute disinfectants in cleaning bottles, keeping the treatment area clean between procedures and patients, or making copies of necessary treatment forms.

PT Client Service Representative

Openings

  • 1 Part-time position for weekends and holidays with occasional weeknight shifts available (minimum 4 shifts/month)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in a client focused role in a veterinary practice.
  • An Associate’s Degree or higher required.
  • The ideal candidates will not only be able to excel in an emergency environment and veterinary clinic, but will also have a passion for going above and beyond for our clients.

  • Emergency triage over the phone and in person

Experienced Relief Veterinarian

South Metro Animal Emergency Care is looking for an experienced emergency veterinarian for relief shift coverage. Ongoing needs throughout the year for time off coverage and additional holiday coverage.

Working Shifts and Pay

Monday – Friday nights 6 pm – 8 am

Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays 8 am – 8 pm or 8 pm – 8 am or 1p-1a

Relief veterinarians are paid a base hourly rate or a percentage of production, whichever is greater.

All Doctors must maintain Standards of AAHA including the following qualifications:

Communication Skills and Medical Knowledge – The candidate can effectively take a history from the owner of the pet and following a thorough physical exam clearly explain their recommended diagnostic workup,  results of the diagnostics and their recommended treatment plan.

Compassion – The candidate will have compassion for pets, their owners and coworkers.

Customer Service Skills – Excellent customer service skills that provides the client with attentive, courteous and informative service.

Dedication – The candidate will demonstrate dedication to the profession.

Team Player – The candidate can work closely with the support staff to deliver exceptional patient care and service to clients.
